So, this was the first time in many years I didn’t truly watch the Super Bowl. It was on in the other room, background noise while I caught up on bills, emails, etc. I know the Packers won. Any time I heard the crowd noise get a little louder, I ventured to the bedroom to see what was going on. It looked like it was a good game. But it was the Packers, so as not to break with tradition I didn’t watch. I don’t think I missed much and from the ungodly sounds emitting from the television during halftime, it seems the Black Eyed Peas were horrific. Not surprising.
I’ve already moved on. Football season is officially over and it’s only five weeks until the NCAA tournament begins. Joy.
Plus, tomorrow night should prove to be pretty special. I’m going to Allen Field house in Lawrence to watch the KU vs. Mizzou game. No, I’m not a Jayhawk fan and I don’t plan to convert. I will be neutral wearing a gray WSU shirt, no crimson and blue. But I’m a college basketball fan and what college basketball fan would not jump at the opportunity to go to a home game at KU? I admit, I’m excited. I just hope I don’t bring along my KU curse. It seems any time I’m forced into a situation where I should support the ‘hawks, they lose. This could very well be the last time I’m ever invited to a KU game if they lose to their arch nemesis. I’ll be the goat.
Here’s to movin’ on and the madness of March. By this time next month, I’ll have forgotten who even played in the Super Bowl.
Great environment there in Lawrence. I just hope you don’t have to sit up in the corner where it smells like an armpit.
